Hi, I'm Liam Carter, the home cook and recipe developer behind RecipeJubba. I start at the produce bin. A recipe is only as good as the tomato, the chicken thighs, or the bunch of cilantro you begin with, and I would rather say that in the steps than hope you guess.
When fruit is right, dinner is easy. When it is not, no amount of sauce saves it. That is the kind of cooking I write.
RecipeJubba is an everyday recipe blog that begins with what you pick up. The cooking is simple on purpose. The buying notes are not decoration: the cut, the ripeness, the fat cap, and what to do with the rest so it does not sit until you throw it out.
I cook from a regular kitchen after a regular shop. Extra delicious is what happens when those two things line up.
I learned to cook by caring about the raw thing first. A floury peach in a cobbler taught me more than any plating trick. I still shop that way, and I still write the looking-and-choosing into the recipe.
I focus on:
I have baked with fruit that never ripened and served the proof. I do not pretend a hard peach is a ripe one in the method anymore.
Too many recipes skipped the part that decides the dish: the ingredient itself. I started RecipeJubba so the store and the stove were written as one process.
You can expect recipes that emphasise:
The bin comes first. On RecipeJubba you will always find:
If a buying note did not match your store, or a leftover use saved the week, tell me.
Thank you for cooking with RecipeJubba. Pick something good and cook it.
